I am Lacey Happ and I was born and raised in Weyburn Saskatchewan. I graduated in 2016 from the Weyburn Comprehensive School. Throughout high school, I played on the school soccer team for four years and was one of the captains in my final year. I was also a member of the track and field team for two years. I volunteered in the FIP classroom at the school for two years and was an under six soccer coach for one season. I have recently started coaching an under 13 girls soccer team and playing on a woman’s soccer team in Weyburn.
I am in my third year of education at the University of Regina in the middle years program. I am starting my pre-internship this semester and I cannot wait to get into the classroom. I am currently living in residence at the university where I have met some wonderful people. I have already started my journey to becoming a teacher and I cannot wait to continue my path towards having my own classroom.
I think inclusion in a classroom is extremely important, and if there is one thing I have learned in my ECS classes it is that inclusion does work and it should be happening in every classroom. As I continue my path to becoming a teacher I will make sure I am educated about inclusion and strive to have inclusion in my classroom as I feel that it is very important.
